Technical Description
An exceptional pair or rare Alderman Copeland cut glass decanters dating to c1865.
Supplied by Thomas Web and cut by Copland, these decanters were displayed at the 1867 Paris Exhibition and are the only pair we have ever seen. See picture below of Paris Exhibition catalogue example.
They have their original stoppers with alternating cut and polished lobes. Slice and notch cut necks, the alternating cut and polished lobes continuing around the main body. Star cut feet.

Excellent, no chips cracks or restoration, clean and clear.

Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge began on the 3rd of January 1870.
