Technical Description
A large 18th-century pedestal wine goblet dating to c1725.
It has a large round funnel bowl with a solid section at the base containing an air tear. Eight sided pedestal stem with diamonds on the shoulders containing a further air tear above a conical folded foot.

Comments
After the Jacobite Rebellion, the "Black Watch" is first raised as a military company in 1725, as part of the pacification of the Scottish Highlands under General George Wade. It went on to fight in nearly all the British Army's campaigns and is now part of The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
