Technical Description 

A 19th century green glass serving bottle made by Richardson and Son in c1870. Slice cut neck with hexagonal slice cut neck ring above fruiting vine engraving. Star cut base.

Part of a large exclusive private collection of 19th and 20th century glass, brought together over many years, that Exhibit will be presenting over the coming months.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration, clean and clear.

Historical Relevance 

Around this time, Benjamin Henry perfects the Henry rifle which was manufactured by the New Haven Arms Company, and used in considerable numbers by certain Union army units in the American Civil War. Confederates called the Henry "that damned Yankee rifle that they load on Sunday and shoot all week!"
