An amber glass serving bottle with it original fruiting vine cork and pewter stopper and pewter bottle cap.

England, c1860. Period of Victoria.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration, clean and clear.

Height: 35.5cm (including stopper) Diameter: 8.5cm.

Historical Relevance 

Benjamin Henry perfects the Henry rifle which was manufactured by the New Haven Arms Company, and used in considerable numbers by certain Union army units in the American Civil War. Confederates called the Henry "that damned Yankee rifle that they load on Sunday and shoot all week!"
