Technical Description 

A superb 18th-century Balustroid wine goblet dating to 1740. A tall example, it has a large bell bowl with a solid section at the base containing an air tear which conyinues down the stem into a large basal knop. Conical folded foot.

England, c1740. Period of George II.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration.

Height: 21.7cm Rim diameter: 10.3m Foot diameter: 10.2cm.

Historical Relevance 

Hand-made around the time Grog was first issued to the Royal Navy in 1740.
