Technical Description
An 18th-century Jacobite engraved wine glass dating to 1760.
It has a conical bowl engraved with a Jacobite Rose, open bud, closed bud and large moth. Sits on a double series opque twist stemconsisting of an outlined corkscrew. Conical foot.
According to Geoffrey B Seddon, the glass was engraved by engraver F and you can see examples of Engraver F's work on page 120 of his book (2nd edition) The Jacobites and their Drinking Glasses.

This glass comes from the Michael Wallis collection which took over 45 years to build and contains over 250 drinking glasses, covering all forms from the 18th century, many exceptionally rare. They will all be presented by Exhibit over the coming weeks and months.
