Technical Description 

A superb 18th-century facet cut wine glass dating to c1780.

It has an ogee bowl finely engraved with fruiting vine above a wonderful facet cut stem with slice and diamond cutting through a central knop. Conical foot.

Date & Origin 

England, c1780. Period of George III.

Condition

No chips or cracks or retoration.

Dimensions 

Height: 15cm Rim diameter: 5.9cm Foot diameter: 7.3cm.

Comments

This glass comes from the Michael Wallis collection which took over 45 years to build and contains over 250 drinking glasses, covering all forms from the 18th century, many exceptionally rare. They will all be presented by Exhibit over the coming weeks and months.
