Technical Description

Engraved with polished details, an 18th century Jacobite sympathy facet cut stem wine glass dating to c1780.

An ogee bowl engraved with a closed bud, a rose and a floral sprig, rests upon a hexagonal facet cut stem. The foot is conical with a rough pontil.

England, c1780. Period of George III.

Condition

Excellent, no chips cracks or restoration

This glass comes from the Michael Wallis collection which took over 45 years to build and contains over 250 drinking glasses, covering all forms from the 18th century, many exceptionally rare. They will all be presented by Exhibit over the coming weeks and months.
