Technical Description

An 18th century engraved Ale glass dating to c1780.

It has a round funnel bowl engarved with hops and barley above a plain stem and conical folded foot.

Date & Origin

England, c1780. Period of George III.

Condition

No chips cracks or restoration, elongated air bubble in bowl. 

Dimensions

Height: 14.5cm, Rim diameter:5.3cm,  Foot diameter: 6.3cm

Comments

This glass comes from the Michael Wallis collection which took over 45 years to build and contains over 250 drinking glasses, covering all forms from the 18th century, many exceptionally rare. They will all be presented by Exhibit over the coming weeks and months.
