Technical Description
A moulded 18th century pedestal stem sweetmeat glass. The lipped double ogee bowl has been honeycomb moulded, this rests upon an eight-sided pedestal stem with diamond moulded shoulders. A domed and folded foot with further honeycomb moulding and a rough pontil supports the piece.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the British captured Pondichéry, India from the French on the 16th of January 1761.
