Technical Description
An 18th century incised twist wine glass. A round funnel bowl rests upon a incised twist stem. The piece is supported by a domed foot with a rough pontil, a rare example.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time Lord Harwicke's Marriage Act 1753 "for the Better Preventing of Clandestine Marriage" came into force in England and Wales on the 25th March 1754.
