Technical Description
An exquisite 18th-century Bohemian glass liqueur decanter. The neck, shoulders and body has been slice cut and decorated with Rococo style gilded rural scenes. It has its original gilded solid ball ground stopper. Polished pontils.
A fantastic high-quality example in superb condition.
You can see examples of these types of decanters on pages 162-164 of 'The Decanter An Illustrated History of Glass from 1650' by Andy McConnell. Personally, I think his two books are by far the best ever written on the subject, not just of decanters, but in many ways, glass in general.
