Technical Description
A superb 18th-century Jacobite Engraved wine glass dating to c1760.
It has a bucket bowl engraved with a Jacobite Rose, a single closed bud, and a Scottish Thistle on the reverse. Sits on a single series opaque twist stem consisting of a pair of spiral gauzes. Conical foot with snapped pontil.
According to Geoffrey B Seddon, The Jacobites and Their Drinking Glasses (1995), the decoration on this glass is probably attributed to Engraver F.
