Technical Description 

A 19th-century Nailsea glass bell with a clear spire handle above a large blue bell with white pulled decoration and white rim. Very rare colours, the normal being cranberry. Designed as a decorative wedding present 

Date & Origin 

England, c1860. Period of Victoria.

Condition

No chips or cracks, the handle has been reattached to the bell at some time in the past but is quite stable.

Historical Relevance 

Hand-blown around the time Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter was published on the 16th of March 1850.
