Technical Description
A superb pair of late 18th-century facet cut wine glasses. They have conical bowls engraved with laurel festoons, medallions, and Bucrania very much in the style of James Giles.

From the above link and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, very similar to C.108-1914. It probably belonged to the Anti-Stuart drinking club - perhaps a reformed version of the Calve's Head Club which flourished in the reigns of Anne and George I.
You will notice that the engravings show a pair of urns in the form of calves heads…and not calves heads themselves….which is why we say in the style of James Giles rather than Giles himself…
Slice and notch cut stems on conical feet with snapped pontils.
