Technical Description 

An 18th-century pedestal stem champagne glass. A large round funnel bowl with an everted rim and a band of flute cuts to the base. Sits on an eight-sided pedestal stem with collars at the base. Conical foot.  

Date & Origin 

England, c1780. Period of George III.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown.

Dimensions 

Height: 15.8cm Rim diameter: 9.3cm Foot diameter: 9.7cm.

Historical Relevance 

Hand-blown around the time the British captured Pondichéry, India from the French on the 16th of January 1761.
