Technical Description 

A superb 19th-century opalescent vaseline glass vase with a crimped green rim and wrythen moulding to the base. Sots on a six pronged foot. Probably by Richardson.

Historical Relevance 

In July 1880, the French-American Union announces that enough money has been raised to complete the construction of the Statue of Liberty, although further funding will be required to construct the pedestal on which it will sit in New York Harbor.
