Technical Description
A rare example of an 18th-century wine glass. It has a round funnel bowl above a double series opaque twist stem consisting of a 15-ply spiral band outside a set of four tight spiral tapes. Conical foot with snapped pontil.
Comments
On first inspection the inner stem seemed to be a what could be classified as a solid double corkscrew, however when you inspect the stem from the top looking through the base of the bowl, the four elements in the form of a cross can be seen. I dont recall ever having a stem with this formation before.
