Technical Description
Pair of 19th-century cranberry wine goblets. Large cranberry glass round funnel bowls. The plain stem and conical foot are formed in clear glass. Gadget tooling marks are present on the foot dating it to between 1860 and 1880. Although the form is quite common, they are normally found with much smaller bowls typical of the era whereas Gobets of this size are significantly rarer and very usable for today's modern wines.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time Henry Morton Stanley found Dr. Livingstone in the town of Ujiji on the shores of Lake Tanganyika on the 10th of November 1871.
