Comments

An excellent example of an early plain stem wine of possible Jacobite Significance. The Jay is purported to be a symbol of the usurpation of the Stuart Kings, the wild rose referring to fertility being restored again and the white rose of the Stuarts. The white rose was also worn to celebrate the ‘Old Pretenders’ birthday (James Francis Edward Stuart, son of James II of England)
