Comments
The form of the bowl with the hollow stem and cutting was very popular in the 19th and early 20th century and many examples and sets can be found online.
It's a great design that allows any sediment and "gunk" to sink down the stem out of the bowl...pretty effective and still used today.
We would say that this example dates to between 1770 and 1790 and it's a very rare form. Everything is just right, the color, weight, tooling and wear. The Helmet foot is a rare 18th-century adaptation and the cutting of the stem points to this period.
