Technical Description
A rare 19th century Copland Spode Green Jasperware Biscuit Barrel with its original lid dating to around 1895. Wonderful condition and workmanship, Jasperware was first developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s with their "Wedgwood Blue" still being instantly recognizable today.
Blue is by far the most common colour but you can find many fine examples of jasperware in Green. However, finding a Copland Spode Green Biscuit Barrel is another thing entirely.
Personally, I think Biscuit Barrel's are wonderful things and you can keep anything from cotton wool balls to coins in them... functional and decorative and just as much today as they were 100 years ago.
