A pair of mid 18th century plain stem cordial glasses. They have round funnel bowls engraved with fruiting vine. The bowls have solid sections at the base containing long air tears which continue down the stem. Domed feet with snapped pontils.
Historical Relevance
Pairs of plain stem cordials are pretty rare. We would say quite confidently that over the last 20 years, only 4 or 5 pairs have passed through our hands. I don't recall ever having a pair with dommed feet. Excellent glasses with real character and a good height.
