Technical Description
A very rare pair of 19th century engraved Nautilus open salts made by J. & L. Lobmeyr, Vienna, Austria in the fourth quarter 19th century. They have 'shell' bowls engraved with forest scenes, hunting dogs and deer above facet cut knopped stems and cut conical feet.
Historical Relevance
Handcrafted around the time the first street trams in Britain were introduced in Birkenhead.
