'Zanfirico' has become synonymous with Vetro a Retorti, meaning 'glass with twists'. Originally Zanfirico was a name given to glassware produced in the Venetian style during Murano's revival period. The term is derived from the name Antonio Sanquirico, an art dealer associated with the glasswares distribution.
