Technical Description
A highly unusual 19th-century serving bottle or decanter. Teal green in colour it has scale facet cuts to the shoulders with two applied neck rings. It has a band of cross and star cut diamonds with flute cutting to the base. Large polished pontil. Possibly made by Richardson.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the first section of the London Underground Railway opened to the public, running from Paddington to Farringdon Street.
