Technical Description
A rare 19th century petal moulded glass rummer. The pointed round funnel bowl is decorated with alternating engraved sprigs of barley and bullrush. The lower half of the bowl is petal moulded. A conical foot with a rough pontil supports the piece. Very unusual engravings and clear bright metal possibly of Newcastle production.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the Aaron Manby (The first iron steamship to go to sea) was completed in April 1822.
