Technical Description
An 18th century pedestal stem champagne sweetmeat glass which has a flared rib moulded cup bowl. It has an eight-sided pedestal stem with diamonds on the shoulders. Folded foot with further rib and diamond moulding.
THe combination of features on this glass mark it as a rare standout.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the British settlement of Halifax, Nova Scotia was founded in 1749.
