Technical Description
A rare 18th century mixed twist wine glass. A round funnel bowl above a stem consisting of a pair of opaque 2-ply spiral threads outside a loose air cable. Conical foot with a snapped pontil.
Mixed twists are rather rare and although you often see them described...incorrectly....this is the 'Real McCoy' as we say in Scotland. Mixed twists are just as rare, if not rarer than colour twists.
Shame about the foot damage, but its all part of its unique history and someone obviously enjoyed using it...a number of times...excessively...which I rather like.
A cheap and rather rare 250+ year old party glass.
