Technical Description
Engraved 18th century opaque twist ale glass. A round funnel bowl rests upon a double series opaque twist stem. Engraved hops and barley in saltire decorate the bowl. The stem is comprised of a pair of multiply spiral bands outside a pair of spiral threads.
A very fine example.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time Edinburgh City Chambers was opened as the Royal Exchange, to the design of the Scottish Architect John Adam.
