Technical Description
An 18th century plain stem wine glass. It has a round funnel bowl engraved with fruiting vine an exquisite butterfly. Plain stem above a conical folded foot.
The butterfly has Jacobite significance signifying reemergence and rebirth.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the astronomer Anders Celsius introduced the Centigrade temperature scale.
