Condition
Some grazing on the feet as expected. One glass has a number of small slither chips to the edges of the foot. On square based and octagonal feet chips are more prone due to the heavy nature of the construction.

Technical Description
A pair of engraved 18th-century facet cut wine glasses. The ogee bowl is engraved with OXO swags. A hexagonal facet cut stem rests upon an octagonal foot with slice cutting. A polished pontil finishes off the piece. Octagonal feet on Facet cut wines are rare.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time of the first balloon flight across the English Channel by Jean Pierre Blanchard and John Jeffries.
