Technical Description
An early large 19th century cut glass water jug. A pulled pouring lip featuring scallop cuts with slice cuts below. The body is diamond and prim cut and has an applied strap handle, also featuring slice and notch cuts. The piece rests upon a square base with a polished pontil.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the Irish Royal Navy captain, Edward Bransfield landed on the mainland of Antarctica.
