Technical Description
A pair of George VI Coronation champagne glasses. The wide cup bowls are decorated with a band of lens cuts and prism cuts. A section free from cutting has been engraved G&E VI Coronation May 1937 surmounted by a crown. The stem is slice cut and rests upon a conical foot with a star cut pontil.
Historical Relevance
George VI was the last British monarch to be emperor of India and the first to become the Head of the Commonwealth.
