Technical Description
An 18th century opaque twist wine glass with a waisted bucket bowl, one half engraved with a basket of roses and sprigs, the other half depicting an engraved butterfly. Rests upon a single series opaque twist stem consisting of a pair is spiral gauzes. Conical foot with snapped pontil.
A very interesting glass, the bowl form, a waisted bucket, not being one you will find too often. Single series stems are also far rarer than double series within the opaque twist range.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the first patent for a one-piece pencil with eraser was issued to American inventor J. Rechendorf of New York City.
