Technical Description
A peacock blue glass roemer. A cup bowl leads into the hollow stem which is decorated with applied trailing and prunts. Applied trailing to the high conical foot gives the appearance of a spun foot. The piece is complete with a rough pontil.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time George Stephenson's Locomotion No. 1 became the first steam locomotive to carry passengers on a public rail line, the Stockton and Darlington Railway in England.
